Judy
De Pue is the owner of New Vistas Landscaping and has been designing
landscapes around Elkhart County and the surrounding area for 35
years.
Judy began her
professional career in the field of art in the mid 1970’s
as a public school art teacher in Goshen, also teaching classes
for the Park Department and Goshen College when her children were
young. By the early 80’s, Judy turned her artistic talents
to landscape designing and started the company called New Vistas
Landscaping.
By the late
1980’s, Judy De Pue received her Horticulturalist certification
with the Indiana Nursery and Landscape Association, followed by
her Pesticide license to treat ornamental trees and shrubs. Then
in 1992, Judy became a “certified designer” under the
Association of Professional Landscape Designers. Having participated
on the national/international Board of Directors for this organization
for a total of 9 years, Judy served as the 2006 president for this
1200 member association. In 2008, Judy was awarded the title of
“Fellow” for her years of service to the Association
of Professional Landscape Designers.
Judy De Pue
FAPLD specializes in creating unique designs based around each separate
client’s needs and wishes. She hopes that her designs continue
to grow and look pleasing for at least 20 years with minimal pruning.
New Vistas’
clients range from individual families, to churches, schools, and
other non-profit organizations as well as businesses. Judy and her
staff over the years at New Vistas, have designed both for do-it-yourselfer
clients and for clients where New Vistas did the installation work.
Beginning in
2016 Judy De Pue began the first step of semi-retirement. New Vistas
returned to a design and consulting business like it started out
in the early years and discontinued the installation of landscapes.
Judy can still provide plants delivered specifically for a job if
requested and stake out jobs or supervise do-it-yourself clients
as needed.
Judy is looking
forward to having more time for her hobbies of working on the landscaping
in her own yard, and volunteering at Creekside Church of the Brethren,
especially in the public Prayer Garden on site.
She and her husband, Stephen, try to be encouraging to their adult
daughters, one serving as a mother tongue educator in Malaysia along
with her husband and young family, and the other serving as a clinical
trial nurse in the IU Goshen Cancer Center.

years, as she specializes in bringing some of God’s beauty
into the everyday lives of our community.
